| Athena (foreground) and Starbuck as kids. |
Our 2008 kidding season is complete. We just about broke even,
with 13 does and 12 bucks. Unfortunately, we have lost 2 does and 2 bucks in the kidding process.
|

Y1 is a butterscotch doeling.
Y2 is a butterscotch buckling who will be sold as a wether.
Sold.
Their dam, Blondie, has come in with a very nice udder, very capacious with nice
texture and well sized and placed teats. She is a first freshener and her buckling will be a wether for that reason only.
|
|

Y3 is a butterscotch doeling who is being retained in our
herd.
Y4 is a doeling that was found dead.
Y5 is a light cream buckling who is available as a wether.
Meridian is a first freshener, but the more I look at that udder, the more I like.
I have decided to sell Meridian's buckling as a wether. I would like to see more capacity in Meridian, but I know these
lines are slow to mature, so I think she has a lot of potential in the future.

Y6 is a black doeling with a white poll who is being retained
in our herd.
Y7 is a buckling who was found dead.
Y8 is another buckling that was found dead.
This breeding has a lot of potential. Ciara is really maturing nicely. Sunni
said her 2nd or 3rd freshening would start to show her full potential and we are not disappointed. We only wish the
little bucklings had survived.

|

Y9 is a dark buckskin doeling who is being retained in
our herd.
Y10 is a black buckling who is available as a wether.
Y11 is a butterscotch buckling who is available as a wether.
Sunflower joined our herd last January and we are really excited about the potential
of this breeding. She is a 5th freshener and we really like what we see so far.
This breeding to Minute Man is a line breeding on Lucky Strike, sire to several MCH's. A lot of potential
here.

Y12 is a dark multi-colored doeling (on the right) who is being
retained.
Y13 is a flashy multi-colored doeling with random marks. This picture
does not really show her wonderful colors. She is very spirited. Sold.
Kachina is a 2nd freshener and this will be her last. She had a vaginal prolapse
and will not be rebred. She is healthy (everything is back in place) but we do not want to put her thru this again. She
has a very nice udder so these does should offer some great milk potential.
And I am really pleased with Monarch's kids so far. He has passed along great length
of body, high escucheon, wide rear leg sets and outstanding dairy character.
|
|

Y14 is a dark buckskin doeling with random large and small white
markings. She is being retained in our herd
Y15 another dark bucksin doeling with a few white markings. Sold.
Bee'auty kidded beautifully. This is one of the most exciting breedings from this
year. Last years' doe kid went to Springs Run so we absolutely must keep one doe this year.
In her first and only show last year Bee'auty earned Grand Champion Senior doe as
a first freshener. I expect even greater things this year. Her udder has come in as expected and she has increased capacity
over last year. We are very pleased!

|

Y16 is a flashy black and white doe that is being retained in our
herd.
Y17 is a very flashy buck with random white and black markings.
He also has moonspots. Sold.
Cookie kidded very easily despite being 11 months old. These kids are really flashy
and resemble the nice colors from Domino. Cookie is a first freshener and therefore her buckling will be sold as a wether.
Cookie may be available after these kids are weaned.

|

Y18 is a very flashy buck with random white and black markings.
He will be sold as a wether.
|
|

Y19 is a cream colored doeling.
Y20 is also a cream colored doeling. This
little doe has an extra teat, so she is being sold as a pet or family milker. Sold.

Kid'n Acres SG PayDay *S
Y21 is a striking colored buck with excellent mammary genetics.
Godiva kidded with a single buck for her second freshening. This kid is very
correct, has great rear leg angulation and width between the hocks with a nice uphill stance. He also has a few
dark moon spots (perhaps a few white ones too, it's hard to tell just yet).
As we have too many bucks he is being offered for sale, priced at $300 as a potential
herd sire.

|
Y22 is a lovely black doe with random white markings who is being
retained in our herd.
Y23 is a buckskin buck who is available as a wether.
Athena is a first freshener who we have been waiting a long time to kid. She was
a hard to breed doe who has finally come through for us. We will post more info as we evaluate her udder.
Y23 is available as a wether for $75.00. Sale pending.
|
|
Y24 is a black buck with random white markings.
Y25 is similar to his brother with a little more white markings.
Star is a 3rd freshener and regrettfully she has only given us one doe. These bucks
are being sold as wethers simply to keep our numbers down.
Y24 & Y25 are available as a wethers for $75.00 each. Sale pending
on both.
